Stephen Hall
Stephen Hall’s multi disciplinary practice includes painting, film, photography, sculpture, architecture, and curating. Since the mid 90's Hall has worked extensively in a devised and collaborative format with various minority social groups including criminal gangs, the unemployed, refugees and asylum seekers. In works that often challenge social taboos Hall explores the uses and misuses of public space in an urban context. Recent Public Art projects Interact with given historical situations to produce works that question what is public art today. Halls' work often addresses current and historical political events.


Born in Ireland in 1968, Hall lives and works in London.  He is Associate Lecturer in Film at the University of The Arts London, 2003-11. In 2008 Hall founded the experimental art space Cul De Sac London and Curated the exhibition programme from 2008 to 2013.
